I enjoyed listening to J.K.
Rowling's commencement speech, 2008 at Harvard University. There are several
takeaways from her emotional and inspiring speech. An idea flashed on my mind
to write an article on leading your life mindfully.
Life is not a checklist of a ‘to-do’
list. It goes on as scheduled with twists and turns. It is like a circus. It is
unpredictable with full of uncertainty.
Life is with peaks and
valleys. Humans propose something while God disposes of something else. Humans plan
many things with their ‘to-do’ lists but destiny takes them in a totally
different direction. That is life!
People have several plans for
their marital life, career, and money. They have plans about their future in
personal, professional, and social life. Things don’t happen as per their
plans. Things happen the way they are supposed to happen. That is life!
Don't play safe. Add
excitement to your life. Take risks to unlock your hidden potential. Work hard
to let things fall into place. Be spontaneous. Avoid ticking off the to-do
list. Lead an unconventional and exciting life. Have an attitude of gratitude.
Embrace Uncertainty and
Change

Those who conform with others
remain in their comfort zone and seek validation and approval from others. In
contrast, those who don't conform to society come out of their comfort zone and
leave their marks.
Your life is not a checklist
of dos and don’ts. Live your life qualitatively, not quantitatively. Life is
not how long you live but how good you live. Life is great.
