Property Dispute Resolution—Professor M.S. Rao, Ph.D.—The Father of “Soft Leadership” & International Leadership Guru

“Be leery of silence. It doesn't mean you won the argument. Often, people are just busy reloading their guns.” ―Shannon L. Alder

Disputes are common in families and friends. They are expected in their personal, professional, and social lives. What is expected is to demonstrate composure and maturity to think through coolly to search solutions for the disputes. In this regard, we will discuss resolving disputes privately in a dignified manner to leave a mark for others to follow.

Settle Disputes Privately

No matter how thin you slice it, there will always be two sides.” ―Spinoza

Parents must distribute wealth to their children before relationships go sour. It helps keep families intact to leave a better legacy. Some parents are indecisive resulting in litigations in children. So, observe the following tips to settle disputes privately. Understand the issue clearly. Set SMART goals. Be tough-minded but tender at heart. Be flexible to give away something to take something in return. Empathize with others. Listen to all sources but make your own decision based on your head, heart, gut, and intuition. Strive for a win-win outcome. After resolving the dispute avoid discussing it with others to enable the other person to live with dignity and honor.

A Take-Home Message

Sometimes you have to let others tell their story about you...even if most of it is fabricated. Your character will tell your side without any words spoken. Do your best to vibrate high even in the midst of a shit storm.” ―Sanjo Jendayi

Don’t get provoked by others. Emphasize ethics and etiquette to win your argument. Avoid hitting below the belt to enable your opponents to remember your principles and philosophies. Life is short. Why should we make it sour? Let us make it sweet by settling disputes privately through discussion and dialogue. Life is great.

Ultimately all kinds of fights end at forgiveness.” ―Amit Kalantri

Embrace Change to Lead from the Front—Professor M.S. Rao, Ph.D.—The Father of “Soft Leadership” & International Leadership Guru

"People support a world they help create and support a process that helps them succeed." Dale Carnegie.

Change is the thing everyone is scared of. When we talk about changing our clothes, foods, and lifestyles we get excited. However, when we are asked to change place of location, nature of work, or if there are changes in roles and responsibilities and policies and procedures, we get tense. Why is it so? Does it not sound contradictory? But it is a fact that people resist change. We shall find out the same from the perspective of Dale Carnegie.

Dale Carnegie stated of six kinds of fears people have to overcome. They are 'fear of criticism', 'fear of failure', 'fear of old age', 'fear of poverty', 'fear of ill health', and finally 'fear of death'. In the context of change, it is the 'fear of failure' and 'fear of criticism' that are the obstacles to embracing change. The people at the workplace are scared of embracing change as the results of change are unpredictable and they doubt about the capability and competency in effecting the change. At times the loss of authority, fear of losing a job, and fear of coming out of the comfort zone make the change process complicated.

The fear of change is worse than the real change. When the real change takes place, people gradually overcome their apprehensions provided there is a strong and visionary leadership that guides the change process.

Everyone talks of change and everyone knows that change pays off well. Everyone admits that change is the only constant thing in the world. Yet, people resist change. Is it because change is painful and stressful? The fact is that change is always helpful. If there had been no change, humankind would have remained in the Stone Age only. Therefore, let us mentally prepare to shed the old outdated practices and procedures and wed new ones that lead to all-around peace and prosperity. To conclude in the words of Benjamin Disraeli, "Change is inevitable in a progressive society. Change is constant."

Do You Believe in Luck?—The Father of “Soft Leadership” & International Leadership Guru

"The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward through the night" - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

When I was doing work out at the gymnasium, a young man approached and asked me a question, "Dear Professor! People often say 'Do your duty but don't look for rewards'. Don’t you think it is a contradictory statement as we work only for results? Could you explain?” I smiled and said as follows:

I complimented them for asking a good question and probably many youth may have this query in their minds. Lord Krishna said, "Action is the duty reward is not thy concern." That means man has to put in his efforts consistently without focusing too much on results as focusing too much on results diverts his mind from putting in efforts. Man gets discouraged when encounters failures as he is more concerned about results than efforts. Besides, for some people success comes early while for some people success comes late. Hence, our duty as human beings is to put in effort regularly without getting unduly worried about success. When I explained in this way the young man smiled and said, "Thank you Professor for clearing my long overdue query."

People often talk about 'luck' when someone achieves something. They ignore the hard work put in by the successful individual. The truth is that two forces govern any individual. First is internal force and second is external force. Man has to put in his best efforts to achieve the desired goals and objectives. However, external forces often hinder in achieving success. When external forces favor, man can reach his tipping point. That external force is nothing but 'luck'. However, if you don't work hard and achieve success due to the favorable so-called external forces such as 'luck' your success will not last long enough. Hence, keep doing your best without looking for results and returns, and, over some time success will touch your toes. Here is a caution! The higher you achieve higher the humility you must possess otherwise success doesn't have any meaning.

Good luck and keep putting in your efforts!
