Is the COVID-19 Threat also an Opportunity?

COVID-19 has thrown several threats to humans. The global economy has gone down, there is growing unemployment and global recession. It has also brought innumerable opportunities such as connecting with friends and families through technology and telephone. It has connected all human beings and brought them into one global platform emphasizing humanity. It has also focused on climate change.

People started understanding and analyzing themselves currently as they were busy with the rat race in the past. Now there is enough time to introspect and bring out the desired improvements in attitude, personality, and behavior. Some leaders have isolated themselves and imposed self-quarantine in the wake of COVID-19. There are people who underwent self-quarantine and achieved amazing success. Some eminent personalities including William Shakespeare, Isaac Newton, Giovanni Boccaccio, Edward Munch, and Thomas Nashe leveraged their self-quarantine and produced the best works in the world. Taking a leaf from them, you can also leverage the current lockdown by unlocking your creativity and producing the best works in the world. During the current lockdown, I have become more creative and focused on my intellectual contributions. I contributed the best manuscripts to international journals and magazines and I am also authoring a book on COVID-19.

Self-quarantine is an opportunity for you to slow down, be creative and reinvent yourself. It is an opportunity for you to take feedback about your strengths and weaknesses and take inventory of your skills, abilities, and knowledge. You can explore career transition, follow the neglected hobbies, reconnect with your old friends. To conclude, convert your current threat into an opportunity. Remember that there are only opportunities, not threats for leaders.

“Only in solitude do we find ourselves; and in finding ourselves, we find in ourselves all our brothers in solitude.” ―Miguel de Unamuno

COVID-19: Express Your Gratitude to Healthcare Professionals

The Indian government has announced a 21-day lockdown as a preventive measure to counter COVID-19. It was a courageous decision by Mr. Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India. Although it has both pros and cons, the pros outnumber the cons. The cons include the dearth of regular income and inaccessibility to basic necessities. Most migrants suffered harshly as they could not return their native places during the lockdown. At this hour of crisis, many officials from various departments are working hard to protect the people. They include medical professionals, nurses, police, essential service providers, and other responders. In fact, they are the real soldiers at this hour of crisis. Reports of stone-pelting on healthcare professionals and police by desperate and frustrated people are highly deplorable. They are doing their duty sincerely under pressure by risking their own lives. People must understand and respect their contribution.

People must understand the reasons behind the lockdown and respect the decision taken by the government in the larger interests of the nation. It is an opportunity for them to serve their communities and societies in whatever the best possible way either by donating money or investing their time by participating actively in nonprofits. They can help the needy and elders by delivering groceries and medicines. They must express their gratitude to all the departments that work under lots of pressure. Let us all salute these real soldiers working relentlessly to fight coronavirus.

“Good governance is not fire-fighting or crisis-management. Instead of opting for ad-hoc solutions the need of the hour is to tackle the root cause of the problems.” ―Narendra Modi

COVID-19: Turn Off Lights For 9 Minutes Tonight

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Diya Jalao campaign a couple of days ago and asked people to light lamps on April 5 at 9 pm for 9 minutes. It is a call for unity to "fight the darkness of coronavirus pandemic". It is a step in the right direction to bring more awareness about COVID-19 and boost the morale of front-liners, health workers, police and the rest of India. Let us participate and light lamps to celebrate unity and brotherhood. Let us show to the world that India is united to fight against coronavirus.

COVID-19: India Lockdown for 21 Days―Express Gratitude Every Day

India locked down for 21 days to prevent coronavirus from spreading across the country. It caused panic in the Indian citizens but it is a step in the right direction.

People are not comfortable with the lockdown but it is in the larger interests of our nation. India has a population of more than 1.3 billion and it is a big challenge to combat coronavirus. The developed nations including Italy, Span, France and America are battling to contain it despite having better healthcare facilities.

Convert the threat of lockdown into an opportunity. Mary Kom is practicing aggressively during the lockdown. Several high achievers are leveraging lockdown to grow professionally. Some celebrities are adding value through donations and community services. In my case, I do research on COVID-19 regularly and share the knowledge freely with the world.  I express my gratitude to each friend every day who helped me in the past. I talk to the friend over the phone, recall the past golden memories and thank him for all the help. It is an opportunity to build bridges.

Reinvent your habits during a 21-day lockdown. Convert this threat of lockdown into an opportunity to build a cleaner and better India. Jai Hind!
