How to Structure Your Day?

“You must work your ass off to achieve success in your life. If success comes instantly, it goes away instantly. Achieve success in such a way that you sustain and grow steadily to add value to others. The world needs that special gift you only have.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

I plan one day before about the tasks that I do the next day. It makes me prepare mentally to execute the tasks effectively. I feed my subconscious mind with commands about the tasks to be done the next day. Here are some tips to structure your day. Prepare a to-do list. Plan well. Have a strategy, and execute it effectively. Prioritize the list. Do the task that is urgent and important. Then do the task is important, not urgent. Then do the task that is neither important nor urgent but you have to do it.  Avoid multitasking. Take one task, execute it effectively, and go to the next task. Anticipate external challenges.

Following these tips help you avoid stress and burnout. They increase your productivity and performance. The futuristic entrepreneur, Elon Musk is a workaholic. He utilizes his time effectively. He is an admirer of Benjamin Franklin.

Conclusion

Good habits are hard to form while bad habits are easy to form. Replace your bad habits with good habits. Use your time productively. You must have a great deal of self-discipline and commitment to succeed in your life.

Importance of Quality Over Quantity

“The good leaders do the best thing in the prevailing situation whereas the great leaders do the right thing in any situation irrespective of the effects and outcomes.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

Recently one of my friends from the USA removed unwanted connections from her social media platforms. She informed me that she emphasized quality over quantity. I appreciated her decision.

Have a few friends but great friends. I preferred books to friends in my childhood. After I joined the Indian Air Force when I was 18 years old, I have a couple of friends who are reliable and dependable. I enjoyed their company. I am still in contact with them.

How well you live matters, not how long you live matters. Leaders like Alexander the Great and Adi Shankaracharya lived for a short period. Abraham Lincoln once remarked, “In the end, it’s not the years in your life that count, It’s the life in your years.”

Emphasize excellence, not perfection. Activity is not an achievement. Execute your tasks with excellence. Avoid multitasking. Undertake one task, execute it effectively, and then move on to your next task.

Takeaway: Emphasize quality over quantity. Quality of life matters, not the quantity of life.

Life Is Too Short

“Life is meant for learning, enjoying, and growing, not for litigating.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

The average lifespan of a human being is 70 years. Unfortunately, we waste our precious time on unwanted things. Research shows that people waste 30 percent of their time thinking about their unpleasant past that cannot be changed. They think about the future that cannot be predicted. They must learn to live in the present.

I am 57 years old. I think about how fast life has passed. I have no regrets because I utilized my time productively and wisely on learning, leadership, and sharing my knowledge freely with the world.

Don't spend your time complaining and criticizing others. Don’t blame the people around. Use your precious time and energies to add value to others. Serve others with your kind heart. Make others feel important. Appreciate good things. Make people around you happy. Some people bring happiness wherever they go whereas some people bring happiness whenever they go. Let people appreciate your presence. Let them feel your absence. Life is great indeed!

Decide to be happy. Enjoy the little things. Enjoy traveling because traveling teaches you to be tolerant and empathize with others. Traveling is the best teacher.

Takeaway: You won’t get back to your past. Live happily every day productively.

Life is too short. Make it sweet.

Are Entrepreneurs Crazy?

“Overnight success is an exception, not a rule. Successful people planted seeds, watered the seeds, and saw the seeds growing into plants and trees. Therefore, make the right choices every day. Stay on your game. Keep going for your dreams.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

Entrepreneurs have an urge to succeed. They have the drive and ambition. They strongly believe in their dreams. They don't listen to naysayers. They are often treated as crazy. The entrepreneurs including Elon Musk and Jack Ma succeeded against all odds. They succeeded because they are crazy. Critics often think that they are stupid. Critics are the ordinary people while the entrepreneurs are the extraordinary people. Entrepreneurs treat crazy as a compliment, not as a criticism. They pursue their ideas when there seemed to be no light at the end of the tunnel. They convert their vision into a reality. They hustle every day. People often don’t see their hard work. They see only their success.

Entrepreneurs don’t look for excuses. They explore ideas for resolving issues. Therefore, be well-rounded and be well-grounded to become a successful entrepreneur. Don’t lose faith. Remember, entrepreneurship is for the brave-hearted, not for the fainthearted.

Experiment Your Ideas like Elon Musk to Excel as an Entrepreneur

“Failures and rejections are an integral part of life. I failed many times. I fail every day. Yet, I explore new things because I enjoy the process of exploring and experimenting. I was rejected many times. For instance, Harvard University has rejected my application for a postdoctoral course in the year 2016. Therefore, learn lessons from your failures. Never give up.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

I have seen a few entrepreneurs challenging the established giants with an idea and technology. They are leveraging technology to achieve success and make a difference in the lives of others.

Entrepreneurs must explore ideas and test them. They must learn lessons from failures and move on with valuable takeaways. When you look at Elon Musk, his entrepreneurial journey is not straight. His entrepreneurial graph is less of peaks and more of valleys. His first three launches failed, but he learned lessons and moved on. Currently, he is the richest person in the world.

Anything can change at any time. You must have an idea, take risks, experiment, and explore. Above all, be persistent.

Takeaway: Be a risk-taker. Don't fear failures. Be persistent.

“Persistence is very important. You should not give up unless you are forced to give up.” —Elon Musk

Is Social Media a Necessary Evil?

“The good leaders do the best thing in the prevailing situation whereas the great leaders do the right thing in any situation irrespective of the effects and outcomes.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

There is a debate about whether social media is good or bad. Social media is a double-edged sword. You must know how to use it effectively. Social media is a currency currently. You can showcase your talents, skills, and abilities. You can get lots of opportunities including employment and explore entrepreneurship. You can share your knowledge and add value to others. you can build your brand. You can explore opportunities globally. It is cost-effective and quick to reach out to others. However, it kills your time and distracts you from your goals and objectives if you are addicted to it.

If you take alcohol moderately, it is good. If you take alcohol excessively, you become an alcoholic. Similarly, use social media moderately, not excessively to avoid becoming an addict. Social media was a boon during the coronavirus spreading awareness, connecting people globally, and bringing them into one platform.

Once watching television was condemnable. Now children are glued to smartphones. We cannot stop it. But we must take appropriate precautions to use them wisely.

We cannot do away with social media. We must adapt as per the changing times and technologies. Throwing social media is like throwing the baby out with the bathwater. You have to draw a thin line and fine line somewhere with the usage of social media.

Don’t get addicted to social media. Use it judiciously. Use it for educational and marketing purposes. Harness it wisely. Fix some specific time for it every day and follow it religiously. Don't get distracted from your goals. To conclude, treat social media as an ally, not an enemy.

How to Be the Best Version of Yourself?

"In the long run, the sharpest weapon of all is a kind and gentle spirit." ―Anne Frank.

When you want to become a better human being, you must become a better version of yourself. You must associate with healthy people and positive people. You must avoid naysayers. You must work on your strengths. You must become a lifelong learner. You must read great books.

Instead of playing games and viewing pornography, use your previous time productively for reading to become a better human. Use your precious time and energies for doing great things. Serve others with a kind heart. Nothing is greater than serving humanity. When you look at leaders including Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King, and Nelson Mandela, they became the best version of themselves and became the greatest leaders in the world.

Takeaway: When you become the best version of yourself, you can become the best leader.

Best Version Of Yourself – Motivational Video | Professor M.S. Rao

Stay Away From Negative People

“I believe in achieving success with integrity which is often ridiculed by many people. Ultimately it is the ethics and etiquette that will make you a great leader in the long run.” —Professor M.S. Rao

Naysayers are negative people who often talk about negative things. They discourage you. They have a negative mindset and create litigations for you. They want an easy and rosy life without working hard. They suck your energy. They are part of the problem, not the solution. They carry forward negative information. They thrive on negativity. They cannot lead a peaceful and happy life. They don’t allow others to live in peace and happiness. The pity is that they end up with litigations. They end up as unsuccessful people. They end up incognito. So, stay away from them. Ignore them, if they come to you. Remove them from your mind forever.

The right people will come and stay with you while the wrong people go away from you. So, don't regret it when wrong people go away from you. Be truly excited and celebrate their exit. Associate with positive and healthy people. Choose good friends. Avoid negative friends. Don't let negative people who treat you unworthy.

Engage with productive people. You create positive vibrations. You can inspire others and make a difference in their lives. We all know that life is short. To conclude, be assertive and stay away from naysayers.
