How to Come out of Your Toxic Family?

“I rose from humble origins with a toxic family background. When I was 18 years old, I dropped out of college to support my parents and joined the Indian Air Force. I had to struggle hard to earn my livelihood. I sacrificed my personal time, invested a portion of my monthly salary and resources, and acquired several qualifications including DME, BSc, MA, MBA, PGDCLL, and PGDBM. I earned my Ph.D. in 2011. I understand the pain of life. I am a self-made man. I have come to know that there's no such thing as a free lunch.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

I was born into a toxic family and grew up in a toxic environment. My childhood was like a hell. I enjoyed reading books. I did not have many friends. I supported my parents in a tea stall. I was not getting the right ambiance to pursue my education. I dropped out of college to support my parents and joined the Indian Air Force as a soldier. The military life was tough and challenging but I found it far better than my toxic family. I enjoyed interacting with positive people in the Indian Air Force. I became organized and grew as a disciplined citizen and as a leader. Here is how you can come out of your toxic family background. Connect with healthy and positive people. Explore options to come out of it. Forgive your toxic family and siblings. Support them as much as you can because you were born into it. Forget the bad memories. Engage with creative people. Invest in healthy relationships. Inspire people around you. You cannot choose your parents and children. You can only choose your spouse and career. You can choose your friends wisely who can support you. So, don't regret being born into a toxic family. Don't carry emotional baggage. Forgive them and forget negative people. Spend your time with the people who support you. Don’t feel guilty that you were born to toxic parents. It is better to separate rather than to live with toxic family members and suffer.

Conclusion

Lotus blooms from the mud. Some of the greatest people were born into toxic family background and inspired the world. They chose to be different and became trailblazers. Stay inspired.

How to Be Happy?

“Nothing is greater than serving others with a great heart. We live in a world where there is a huge competition for takers and the least competition for givers. So, be a giver and serve your societies and communities to build a better world.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

People often ask me in the gym how I am always happy. I tell them that I have no income, no pension, and no tension. I am still happy. Happiness lies within, not outside. I don’t expect anything from others. I don’t have any materialistic ambitions. I have a little money and I live within my means. I am frugal. I lead a simple, humble, and happy life. I am ambitious, not overambitious.

I am happy because I share my knowledge freely with the world. I am happy because I invest my time in the development of students. I am happy because I feed stray dogs in my colony. I am happy because I make a difference in the lives of others.

Conclusion

Forget your unpleasant past. Be cheerful. Enjoy every moment. People get upset when they don’t get what they desire. Everything happens for a reason. Avoid litigation. If you litigate you end up in litigation. Don't expect anything from others. Work for a cause, not for applause. Serve others. Add value to others. Keep your spirits high. Don’t search for stones by leaving gems at home. Lead a happy and meaningful life. Life is great.

Why We Lose Momentum & How To Regain It

“Education is a lifelong process. It is a great amplifier and accelerator. It must help us learn to live sustainably. It must create curiosity and open the minds of students. It must ignite the minds of the students and help them convert information into knowledge.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

During COVID 19, I worked hard on my YouTube channel and uploaded videos. Usually, I enjoy writing books, not uploading videos. I converted the threat of global lockdown into an opportunity. I learned how to create videos and uploaded videos to share my knowledge freely with the world.

I received an appreciation email from YouTube in December 2020. An idea flashed on my mind to create a new channel. I researched for a fortnight and created a new channel to share my ideas and insights on health, education, wealth, and mindfulness URL: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCS96rAuytHQOjFqyrCq7x-A. It is gaining momentum. Therefore, keep moving. Don’t standstill. At times, we get distracted due to external forces and factors. We must analyze the reasons and address them effectively to keep ourselves on track again.

Gaining momentum is easier said than done. Here is how you can build your momentum and sustain it. Be positive. Be confident. Believe in your dreams.  Don't lose track. Stay motivated to maintain momentum in your life. Become the best version of yourself. To conclude, turn your moments into momentum.

Turn Your Moments into Memories

“My daily rituals: I wake up at 4 AM and sleep at 10 PM. In the morning, I create knowledge. In the afternoon, I acquire knowledge. In the evening, I eliminate irrelevant information. In the night, I prepare for the next day.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

We, humans, remember good moments and bad moments. Bad moments remain as emotional baggage. Good moments remain as sweet memories and bring us happiness and joy. You cannot go back to the past. But you can go back if you had captured your past moments. I often recall my sweet memories from the Indian Air Force. I forget bad moments and remember good moments. I avoid emotional baggage. I enjoy every moment of my life. Therefore, forget your unpleasant events and experiences. Leave your emotional baggage. Remember the great events and experiences and convert them into sweet memories.

You must have the self-awareness to harness your moments into momentum. Experience your gratitude in the present. Live your own adventure. I enjoyed photography and captured a few moments when I served in the Indian Air Force. I enjoy recalling them. They are sweet memories. I have created a unique inbuilt system where I create knowledge in the morning, generate knowledge throughout the day, and eliminate unwanted information and individuals from my mind in the night. So, I sleep happily every day by expressing my gratitude to God.

The memories last a lifetime. Enjoy every moment. Be mindful. Convert each moment into a memory. Cherish your memories. Erase your bad moments. Remember good moments. Let go of your unpleasant past. Move on with positive moments. Life is short. Make it sweet. To conclude, learn to live in the present and turn your moments into memories. Life is great.

Climate Change: Choose Planet Over Profit

"We cannot burn our way to the future. We cannot pretend the danger does not exist -- or dismiss it because it affects someone else." —Ban Ki-moon

COVID-19 refocused our attention on climate change. Climate change is a major threat that can extinguish the entire humans. It is visible and happening in smaller increments as we can see a rise in average yearly temperatures, melting glaciers, destructive hurricanes, intense wildfires, droughts, and species extinction.

The virus was an unpredictable danger while climate change is a predictable danger. When the world could rise to the unpredictable challenge of the coronavirus, why it cannot rise to the challenge of climate change? The experience with the coronavirus indicates that we must prepare strategic plans to save the earth and humans. Before climate change becomes an unmanageable threat globally, we must have short-term and long-term strategies to protect the planet. Currently, we cannot migrate to another planet. Therefore, we don't have any Plan B. We have only Plan A to protect the earth and save humankind.

The food we eat is adulterated, the water we drink is contaminated, and the air we breathe is polluted. It is all because of the exploitation of the earth. The humans must check their greed. Emphasize balanced growth to lead a meaningful life.

Time is running out. We must focus on climate change. Protect earth ensure ecology. We are accountable to future generations. Parents give their wealth to their children to ensure safety. Instead, they must hand over safe earth to their children.

Be the change. Take action. An integrated effort from all stakeholders including climate activists, governments, global bodies, thought leaders, intellectuals, academicians, industry experts, and non-profits is essential to check the climate change.

Takeaway: We cannot remain as silent spectators. Things are still under our control. We must act now to check climate change. Choose the planet over profit.

"The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything." —Albert Einstein

You Deserve the Best

“You must work your ass off to achieve success in your life. If success comes instantly, it goes away instantly. Achieve success in such a way that you sustain and grow steadily to add value to others. The world needs that special gift you only have.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

Currently, people have higher expectations and aspirations globally. They often compare with others by looking at others’ social media profiles. What they must do is to compete with themselves, not compare with others.

When you want to grow big in life, you must give your best. You must work hard, smart, and wise to stand out from others. Nothing comes easy in life. Everything comes at a cost. You get what you deserve, not what you desire. If you work hard, you get the right results. Therefore, take risks. Embrace failures. Bounce back from failures. There is nothing like an overnight success.

If you give your best, you get the best. Don't worry excessively about the outcomes. Be disciplined. Organize yourself. Work like hell. Excel in your area. Embrace change. Work hard consistently. You won't have regrets on your deathbed that you did not work hard.

Message

Raise your bar. Compete with yourself. You deserve the best.

Soft Skills for Millennials (Gen Y) and Centennials (Gen Z)

“Hard skills can be automated, not soft skills because soft skills are interpersonal skills and closely related to emotional intelligence which are hard to teach, train and impart to humans.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

The older generations such as Baby Boomers and Generation X interacted with others and acquired emotional intelligence and soft skills. However, they are not tech-savvy. They are slow to catch up with technology. The present generations such as millennials (Gen Y) and centennials (Gen Z) rarely interact with others. They are glued to smartphones and gadgets. They are experts in digital tools and technologies. They are tech-savvy. They are smart and brilliant. They must acquire emotional intelligence and soft skills. Technology cannot replace soft skills. A judicious blend of both hard and soft skills helps them achieve professional success.

Takeaway: The millennials and centennials must acquire soft skills and blend them with hard skills effectively to excel as achievers and leaders.

What Travel Teaches You

"To travel is to lead." ―Professor M.S. Rao

When I served in the Indian Air Force, I traveled often on various aircraft. I worked in a Mi-17 helicopter. I traveled the entire India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

Traveling teaches you tolerance. It teaches you many things. You observe different people and their cultures, languages, and foods. You understand and appreciate them. You empathize with them and develop a universal mindset. You inculcate cultural intelligence, acquire cultural competence, achieve cultural compatibility, and grow as a global leader. Your perception of the world changes. You learn a lot. You improve empathy, emotional intelligence, and soft skills.

Message

If you don’t travel, you remain like a frog in the well. Travel is the best teacher opening a window to the outside world. Therefore, everyone must travel. To conclude, make it a practice to travel once a year.
