For Tiger Woods, Failure is only a Comma, not a Full Stop―Share if You Care!

“Look, there are no shortcuts in golf, and there are no shortcuts in life. You have to work for it. Dream big and keep your dreams for yourself. Because the dreams that you have are those things that separate you from others. If you give up your dream, you give up hope. And without hope, you are nothing.” ―Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods rose like a phoenix in golf history. Although almost everyone appreciated his talents and abilities in golf, they doubted his comeback because of his past sex scandals and controversies. He proved his critics wrong by winning the Masters golf tournament on April 14, 2019. Presently people appreciate his epic performance. He was like a cannon on the battlefield when he entered the golf scene but fizzled out during the course of his professional career and bounced back with his grit and determination.

Leadership Lessons from Tiger Woods

Tiger Woods was bedridden due to his back injury. His family life was in shambles. His morale was all time low. There was no support for him literally. His comeback is one of the most inspiring stories in sports history. He proved that everything is possible in the world when you are passionate about your profession and work hard relentlessly with commitment and excellence. Here are some leadership lessons to learn from his life.
  • Dream big to achieve big.
  • Have strategic planning and focus on your core strengths and invest your efforts consistently.
  • Visualize yourself as a successful person.
  • Be resilient. Treat failure as a comma, not a full stop. Remember that every failure is a stepping stone to your success.
  • Raise your bar.
  • Be passionate, patient and persistent.
  • Take feedback, learn lessons from failures, and reinvent your strategies to stay relevant and successful.
  • Never give up.

In a nutshell, don’t criticize, complain and condemn others. Apologize when you are wrong. Take remedial action. Be part of the solution, not the problem. Be simple and humble. Remember that no person is entirely good and no person is entirely bad. At times, circumstances compel people to do certain wrong things.

Convert Your Scars into Stars

Nothing will stop the people whose dreams are bigger and stronger. Appreciate Tiger Woods’ grit, determination, perseverance, and resilience. Although his life was ridden with several controversies he bounced back successfully thus becoming a source of inspiration for many people in the world. Therefore, learn lessons from his life to become a successful human and sportsperson. To conclude, look at the rising sun, not the setting sun. There is always a silver lining over the dark cloud. Convert your scars into stars.
