“Usage of Social Media by Students to Check Corruption and Irregularities in Private Colleges in Hyderabad” ―Professor M.S.Rao

“By the skillful and sustained use of propaganda one can make a people see even heaven as hell or an extremely wretched life as paradise.” ― Adolph Hitler

Currently social media is playing a crucial role to spread news quickly and redress grievances immediately. Social media often spreads negative news more than positive news.  However, you can use social media to check corruption and irregularities in the society.  The television channels and print media are equally aggressive to bring news quickly to the knowledge of others due to cut-throat competition, and to increase their ratings and viewership. They are also eager to check corruption and irregularities to bring culprits to the book.

There are many ways the problems can be resolved in the global society currently. Students often use social media for their personal promotion to get noticed. They can use social media to redress their grievances against their educational institutions. They can help others by showing the direction. When you look at Nirbhaya case, it became famous globally due to social media. Everything comes to limelight quickly due to the usage of social media.

There are private colleges in Hyderabad and other parts of India that cheat students and faculty with their fake branding and false promises. Hence, students and faculty can approach the regulating bodies like All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the universities to which their colleges are affiliated to check irregularities and corruption. It requires is a little of bit research, and right guidance to proceed forward to voice against corruption and irregularities. Of course, you also need a legal expert.

Fate of Faculty in Private Colleges in Hyderabad

Most private colleges don’t pay salaries to their employees who submit their resignations. And some colleges fire their employees arbitrarily without giving salaries and relieving orders.  Such faculty can fight for their rights without any fear. Of course, some of the private colleges are run by goons, toddy traders, real estate brokers and money lenders in Hyderabad. In that case, the faculty can fight for their rights by taking support of social media and approaching the local media.

Press is the fourth estate in democracy. It plays a crucial role to bring irregularities and corruption, and to keep the democracy healthy and vibrant. Hence, faculty can utilize appropriate social media platforms to highlight their grievances. They should not suffer silently when they are humiliated. They can approach AICTE and the affiliated university to redress their grievances. They must not stereotype that all officials are corrupt. They must remember that there are always good officials everywhere to support their causes to redress their grievances. Here is the email id of AICTE aictevigilance@gmail.com for your assistance. Both students and faculty must know the right methods to approach AICTE to redress their grievances. If the problems are not resolved, they can make use of social media to spread the irregularities and corruption and go to media to draw attention. It helps citizens understand the ground realities and take appropriate precautions against corrupt colleges.

Conclusion

Students are the real force in educational institutions. They must make use of social media to spread irregularities and corruption in the society. They are much smarter than others, and are technology savvy. They can create mass movement through social media platforms quickly to check corruption.

To summarize, be courageous to fight against injustice in the society. Come forward to raise your voice against corruption and irregularities whether it is in your college or in the society. Take the support of media including social media to alert people about the irregularities and corruption in educational institutions and the society to build a strong nation. Jai Hind!
