“Choose Your Career, Course and College Carefully to Grow as a Leader” ―Professor M.S.Rao

"Choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life." ―Confucius

Indian students are often confused in choosing their careers. They lack right guidance and pursue their careers due to parental and peer pressure. They don’t make use of psychometric tools to choose their careers. Some of them go by herd mentality. It is not a step in the right direction.

You must know how to choose your career. First, find out your attitude towards the professions you have shortlisted. Second, check your aptitude whether the shortlisted profession suits your mental abilities. Third, find out whether you have the requisite abilities to pursue the career. Fourth, have awareness about the career. Hence, having 4 As – attitude, aptitude, abilities and awareness helps greatly in choosing your career successfully.

There are some students who prefer colleges to courses. It is like putting the cart before the horse. In fact, what is required is to choose the courses in which you are passionate about, and in which you have the ability to invest. Then choose the right colleges that provide those courses. Colleges provide right ambience and good faculty to share knowledge. It helps acquire knowledge and network with the right people in your area of interest. It makes a huge difference in the long run.

When you look at successful film stars, they give more importance to script rather than the directors and producers. If the script is good, they think of the right director and producer who can bring out the best from them on the screen. Similarly, you must be careful in choosing the right course first to acquire your qualifications from right colleges.

What counts at the end of day is content is king and curriculum is the key. Above all, you must have the fire to pursue your passionate areas.

Good luck to right career, course and college!
