“Mera Bharat Mahan Hai! Be a Responsible Indian”– Professor M.S.Rao

It is essential to instill patriotism in citizens to build strong and respectable nations in the world. Boys are busy with their girlfriends and girls are busy with their boyfriends. People are busy with their routine challenges. In fact, nobody has time to think about development of their nations. Hence, someone must take initiative in this regard.  Hence, I address this issue in this post. Here are some questions to respond:

Do you stand and watch when accident takes place on the road?
Do you talk loudly in public places?
Do you offer bribe when caught by traffic police?
Do you encourage corruption?
Do you shield criminals?
Are you a silent spectator when atrocities on women taking place right under your nose?
Are you part of the problem than the solution?

If answers to the above questions are yes, it is time for you to change your attitude and reinvent as a responsible and healthy citizen. It is time to get into the positive zone of Indians to build a strong nation. Let us start from students who are tomorrow’s leaders.

How many students think of building India as a great nation? If you are one among them, this nation calls for your services.  Do you know why India is still a developing nation despite being rich in natural and human resources? It is basically because we are part of the problem rather than part of the solution. We often talk about individuals and issues than to explore ideas to resolve vexing issues. We are more of spectators than actors. We want to play safe. We are more of preachers than practitioners.  We are not punctual, and our commitment levels are low.  We fail to present positive attitude and above all, we fail to dream big.


Hello Indian! Come forward. Accept responsibility. Take care of your family and society. Then only, India as a nation will grow globally. When good citizens like you join, we can make a huge difference to the society. Everything starts from one person and that one person is YOU.  Remember, one person who can change the world is YOU!

Let us take a pledge to acquire positive, right and strong attitude; enhance our commitment levels; work together to build a strong and great India. Mera Bharat Mahan Hai! Jai Hind!

“Are You a Good Girl or Bad Girl? Do You Crave for more Facebook ‘Likes’? Here is a Global Opportunity for You!”– Professor M.S.Rao

Presently girls and boys are under peer pressure and age pressure. They crave for attention and recognition.  They intend to get more ‘Likes’ in their Facebook posts. For them, Facebook is more important than textbook.  A few girls upload their photos with tight fittings and skimpy costumes to expose their bodies to get more ‘Likes’.  A few girls maintain multiple boyfriends and many boys maintain multiple girlfriends which has become the order of the day in educational institutions. Some of the notorious students create nuisance in college buses and spread negativism in good students. They poison the minds of good students who intend to become ideal students. Worse, some of them drink and come to the classrooms.   


Good Girl versus Bad Girl

It is observed that some students accept negative things easily and reject positive aspects quickly. Faking and cheating has become the order of the day in colleges. How to clean their unhealthy minds? In fact, these students are the misguided lot with wavering minds and short-term temptations. Someone must take initiative to address this issue earnestly to guide students in a right direction. Let us look at some of the following questions to distinguish between good and bad girls:
Do you believe in the slogan of ‘Hi and Bye!’? If so, you are a selfish girl.
Do you sport a plastic smile to get your things done by others? If so, you are a fake girl.
Do you exploit your relations for your personal gains? If so, you are an unhealthy girl.
Do you cheat your parents? If so, you are a bad girl.
Do you cheat your teachers? If so, you are a fake girl
Do you turn your back to your teachers after you get the tasks done by them? If so, you are a thankless girl.
Do you spread rumors in college? If so, you are a notorious girl.
Do you accept negative things easily and spread them quickly without any verification? If so, you are a nasty girl.
Do you instigate your boyfriends to steal money from their home to spend money for your cell phone and restaurant bills? If so, you are an immoral girl.
Do you scapegoat your boyfriend when you are in deep mess? If so, you are a wicked girl.
Do you let down your boyfriend when he is in crisis? If so, you are an unethical girl.
Do you check your cell phone in the classroom when your professor teaches? If so, you are a negative girl.
Do you wink when professor teaches? If so, you are a notorious girl.

If you listen attentively in the classroom and take notes instead of checking for Facebook updates, you are a good girl.  If you are a girl with positive energy with a spirit to change the society, I appreciate you from my heart. Here is an opportunity for you to transform negative girls into positive girls. In fact, I am looking for such kind of girls to build this world better. Remember, there is least competition for good girls and cut-throat competition for bad girls!  Come and join me to convert bad girls into good girls to build a healthy society and great nation. Roles and Responsibilities

Here are our roles and responsibilities as a teacher and taught. As a student, you feed the minds of your negative friends with positive thoughts. And as a professor, I share my positive messages to inspire all students. Over a period of time, we will find more bad girls transforming into good girls. Competition will be fierce when all girls become good. Don’t worry as it is a healthy competition.


Message

Here is my message. Both boys and girls must have clarity before building their relations with their friends, boyfriends and girlfriends.  In fact, clarity is the key to your successful and everlasting relationship in life.  As a girl, love the person who loves you. Marry him and be loyal to him throughout your life. Stand by him during peaks and valleys. Remember, behind the success of every man there is always a good woman. Hence, become a good woman to achieve an amazing success in your life and to bring success to your husband. When good girls become good women, they can convert bad men into good men. They create a better society and world.  Additionally, it is a great opportunity for you to grow as a woman leader globally and work for women empowerment.  As a bird can fly on two wings, a society can grow only when both men and women collaborate and work together with synergy. Hence, let us work together in that direction to build a better world.

“Students, their Self-Esteem and Facebook ‘Likes’”– Professor M.S.Rao

Presently college students in India are more interested in Facebook than in textbooks. They wake up from bed and check for updates in their Facebook accounts rather than to acquire knowledge from the textbooks. They regularly upload their photos in their Facebook accounts to get more ‘Likes’. They constantly search for their visibility in social media to assess their popularity by viewing at the number of ‘Likes’ they received. There is often a cut-throat competition among students to get more ‘Likes’. It is due to their age pressure and peer pressure. They often discuss with their friends in the classrooms about the number of ‘Likes’ they received to their uploaded photos. Girls are not behind boys at any rate. In fact, they are the trendsetters, not trend followers unlike boys who are trend followers behind girls.  Girls also upload their photos by wearing beautiful saris. At times they partially expose their bodies with their colorful outfits to get more ‘Likes’. Competition is cut-throat among the girls who intend to get more ‘Likes’ from their friends especially from their boyfriends. When they get more ‘Likes’ their egos are inflated. These girls often talk to other girls proudly about the number of ‘Likes’ they received from others especially from boys. Then the competition becomes cut-throat in girls.  

For spectators, it becomes difficult to distinguish between friend, boyfriend and lover in educational institutions as the line is very thin. It is a pity that the girls themselves are unable to distinguish between their boyfriends, friends and lovers as the equations in girls keep changing with the changing times, emotions, egos and feelings.  Friends become foes and vice versa. Is it a healthy trend in educational institutions?

Research shows that self-esteem in college students is very low which results in craving for more attention from others either for good reasons or for bad reasons. Unfortunately, it is mostly for bad reasons rather than for good reasons. Parents are busy with their family and financial challenges. Hence, they find it tough to pay adequate attention to their children. Increased nuclear families in India alienated children from their relatives. Children crave for love and affection from their parents. When they don’t get adequate love and affection, they crave from others especially from their friends in educational institutions. This is not a healthy trend and it needs to be checked earnestly by building self-esteem among the students.  Here are some tips to enhance self-esteem in students. 
  • Make use of your self-talk which plays a crucial role to boost your self-esteem. It is also known as inner dialogue. All human beings talk to themselves throughout the day. If they know how to make use of this time by thinking positively, they will be able to build their self-esteem. Hence, feed your mind with positive self-talk.
  • Believe in yourself. You are unique and God’s gift to this world. You are incredibly talented beyond your imagination. You have a huge potential which is unexplored. Hence, invest your efforts to unlock your hidden potential to achieve amazing success.
  • List out your strengths and weaknesses. Learn to leverage your strengths and guard from your weaknesses. Learn to operate from the area of your strengths.
  • Don’t look for external motivation. Acquire internal motivation to keep you energized throughout the day. Mark McKeon rightly remarked, "Don't worry about impressing others, impress yourself. Who are you trying to please, anyway?"
  • Have a big heart to appreciate good in others and be flexible to adapt the best from others.
  • Avoid people with negative attitude who poison your mind with their negative ideas and thoughts. Surround with positive people who bring in their positive energy that make you charged throughout the day with positive thoughts.
  • Remember that you are God’s gift to this world. Nido Qubein rightly remarked, "Total, unconditional acceptance of yourself is the first step in building a positive self-image."

I am one of the conscious citizens of this great nation with a huge responsibility to shape students as global leaders. Hence, it is my responsibility to play a crucial role to guide and groom students in a right direction. Although I cannot change the entire students I can bring change in some students by investing my time and sharing my thoughts on this growing global menace. Hence, I blogged this post.
