Educated People versus Intelligent People
“I am not
blessed with regular education and a great education. I am not blessed with
great parents. I am not blessed with any mentors, coaches, or teachers. In
spite of these constraints, I am trying to leave my mark in the world.”
―Professor M.S. Rao
In this post,
I will differentiate between educated people and intelligent people. Educated
people can read, write and reproduce. They can acquire knowledge and research.
They are academically smart and brilliant. They share lots of knowledge with
facts and figures. They are book smarts. In contrast, intelligent people
utilize the knowledge and explore it in different contexts to achieve success.
They are practitioners and street smarts.
Intelligent
people often think of short-term gains while the educated people think of
long-term gains. Intelligent people are often overambitious while the educated
people are ambitious. Intelligent people often think of achieving success by
any means while the educated people think of achieving success with integrity.
Educated
people are lifelong learners while intelligent people are choosy learners.
Educated people share their knowledge while intelligent people understand how
to apply the knowledge. Educated people often go by rules while intelligent
people break the rules.
I am
self-educated but I am below average in intelligence since my childhood. I
acquired seven qualifications including a Ph.D. in Soft Skills because of my
passion for education and learning. It is obvious that an educated person may
not be intelligent and an intelligent person may not be educated. Intelligence
is intrinsic while education is extrinsic.
Elon Musk is
an unconventional entrepreneur who emphasizes informal education. Several successful
entrepreneurs dropped out of college. For them, education is secondary while
passion is primary.
Takeaway: Society needs both educated and intelligent people to maintain
equilibrium.

Why are Farmers Protesting in India? | Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan | Soft Leadership
“The good
leaders do the best thing in the prevailing situation whereas the great leaders
do the right thing in any situation irrespective of the effects and outcomes.”
―Professor M.S. Rao
There is an ongoing
standoff between farmers and the government over the farm laws in India. Here
are some points raised: Convene a special Parliament session to repeal the farm
laws. Make MSP and state procurement of crops a legal right. Assure that the
conventional procurement system will remain.
Farmers are
soldiers. Take care of farmers. Address their concerns immediately. Don’t
politicize. Don’t suppress. Don’t divert the attention. Fix the problem
immediately and earnestly. It has gained international attention. The issue
must be above politics.
Indian
farmers are born in debt, live in debt, and die in debt. Several farmers commit
suicide due to debts in some States in India. This is the fate of farmers. A
few farmers are benefited due to growing urbanization and the construction of
new highways near their agricultural lands. Their lands have appreciated
exponentially due to the real estate boom. It is only an exception. The
majority of farmers are in problems and in pathetic conditions. India lives in
villages and farmers are the foundation for the Indian economy.
I am
concerned about farmers because I am an Indian. I am concerned about farmers because
I am a veteran. I am concerned about farmers because they are the real
soldiers.
Takeaway: Farmers are
the backbone of the Indian economy. The government must strengthen their back
to strengthen the Indian economy. Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan. Jai Hind.
