If Today Were The Last Day Of My Life

“If you live each day as it was your last, someday you'll most certainly be right” ―Steve Jobs

Our lifespan is fixed. Nobody knows when will be the last day and when will be the last moment of our life. If today were the last day of your life, what would you do? What would you do differently?

You would unlock your potential when you realize that today were the last day of your life. You respect the time and the people around you. You would value them. You would do what is important to you. You would express your gratitude. You would love the people around you. You would love your neighbors. You would not settle for less. You would do your best. You would add value to others and make a difference in their lives. You would live each moment of your day.

If today were the last day of my life, I would do as follows. I spend my time with my wife for her love and support. I thank students for their love and support. I thank God for blessing me with a life full of challenges. I led many lives in one life. I was born in a village and grew up in a toxic environment. I was a soldier in the Indian Air Force. I was an entrepreneur. I was an educator and professor. I am an author and speaker. Therefore, I thank God for granting me many lives in one life.

I phone my best friends for their support. I thank my toxic parents and siblings for the lessons they taught me. I thank my rogue relatives for their betrayal. I post an interesting article on my blog, upload an inspiring video, thank my friends, fans, and followers and say goodbye to them. Life is great.

Takeaway: Treat each moment as the last moment in your life. Treat every day as the last day to unlock your hidden potential and make a difference in the lives of others.

“Live every day as the last day of your life.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

To Aspire Is Human; To Be Blessed Is Divine

“You must work your ass off to achieve success in your life. If success comes instantly, it goes away instantly. Achieve success in such a way that you sustain and grow steadily to add value to others. The world needs that special gift you only have.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

I have a friend who is in the film industry. He is handsome with an amazing screen presence. He is struggling in the industry for the last 15 years to establish himself. Adding fuel to the fire, coronavirus has thrown his career out of gear. He is in a deep financial mess. He is caught between his aspirations and challenges. I advised him to face challenges head-on and explore other opportunities in the film industry with the changing times and technologies. I advised him about OTT platforms, web series, and crowdfunding.

When you look at most achievers, their main aim is not wealth but to earn name and fame. Whether they are entrepreneurs, leaders, generals, or politicians, they want to stand out from others for their contributions and achievements. So let us understand and appreciate the importance of ambition. Ambition must help people serve others and add value. It must make a difference in the lives of others.

Ambition is a state of mind and a way of life. It is a disciplined approach and an eager desire for achievement. It is the reflection of the unconscious human. It is the hallmark of the human spirit. It took ordinary individuals to extraordinary heights. People worked hard to prove themselves. They stretched beyond their limits to leave their marks and get noticed.

Many people go to their graveyard with their potential lying untapped. Don't go in that way. Treat challenges as opportunities, not threats. Unlock your potential to add value to others and make it big in your life. Leave your legacy to your next generations.

Challenges are an important part of our life. They lead to growth. They force to think in multiple ways to come out of the challenges. They unlock hidden potential. So, look at the door that is opened, not the door that is closed.

Takeaway: Ambition is an integral part of your life. Take charge of your life, unlock your potential to add value to others, and make a difference in the world.

“To aspire is human; to be blessed is divine.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

Einstein's Unique Way Of Thinking Contributed To His Genius

“Be passionate, persistent, and patient. There is nothing like an overnight success. Work hard, wise, and smart to stand out from others. I failed many times in my life. I fail every day. But I don't have any regrets because I learn lessons and move on with valuable takeaways.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

Some people are non-conformists and create history. They cannot be understood by average individuals. Only time will tell their genius. For instance, Einstein was one such scientist who continues to inspire many scientists and others globally. He was unique because he had a rare imagination. He was unique because he had an unconventional way of looking at the problems. He was unique because he was an out-of-the-box thinker. He was unique because he was persistent by nature. He was unique and that is why we remember and respect him even today.

As a professor, I observed many students. I found some students to be dull and docile. When I encouraged them, the best within them came out. Einstein was not a good student academically. He was a school dropout. He failed in exams. He was rebellious by nature. He was a non-conformist. He wrote several books. He was also a philosopher. He was curious and persistent. He was neglected and ridiculed in his initial life but later respected. He could break the limitations of human imagination. He showed that human imagination is unlimited while knowledge is limited.

Some people mature late. They are late bloomers. They mature late but they grow like a bamboo tree. So, don't write off students and children because they don't do well academically initially.

The world is growing due to non-conformists and unreasonable people. They don’t settle for less. They keep trying and finding new things. They don’t entertain naysayers.

Takeaway: Einstein's unique way of thinking contributed to his genius. Curiosity matters more than so-called smartness. So, be curious and persistent to achieve amazing success. The world has progressed due to unreasonable people and non-conformists. Be a non-conformist in Einstein's way.

“Blind respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth.” ―Albert Einstein
