Undaunted: How Stoics Turn Tragedy To Triumph?

“The good leaders do the best thing in the prevailing situation whereas the great leaders do the right thing in any situation irrespective of the effects and outcomes.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

Setbacks, failures, and frustrations are an integral part of your life. Be undaunted and keep moving forward by working hard, smart, and wise. Thrive on uncertainty. Be resilient. Be consistent and persistent in your efforts and energies to accomplish your goals and objectives.

Emerge stronger through adversity. Overcome uncertainty. You will be remembered for what you do during the crisis, not during the calm. Abraham Lincoln is remembered for dealing with crises with his effective leadership. Winston Churchill was a wartime hero. He was more effective during the crises than the calm.

Don’t worry unnecessarily. Identify what is inside your circle of control. Accept the realities. Take responsibility. Lead from the front. Don’t fear outcomes.

Takeaway: Be stoic. Be calm and composed. Explore options to come out of the crisis.

Develop a Winning Mindset

"You can learn a lot from suffering. Remember, in the ash of suffering a phoenix can be born." ―Professor M.S. Rao

Here are some tips to develop a winning mindset and become successful in your life. Identify your inner voice. Find what you love. Have a vision. Craft your strategy. Execute it effectively. Invest your time, money, and resources effectively. Take risks. Be part of the solution, not the problem. Utilize the available resources. It is the bad tradesmen who blame their tools whereas it is the wise tradesmen who work with what they have. Work your ass off. Acquire both soft skills and hard skills. Bet on your strengths. Be the commander of your life. Invest your knowledge to make a difference in the lives of others.  Don't bother with turmoil. Great leaders emerge from turmoil. Remember, God is processing you. Have self-discipline. Have a belief in yourself. Emphasize excellence, not perfection.

Takeaway: Don’t fit in. Stand out from others.

How to Trust Your Intuition?

“The good leaders do the best thing in the prevailing situation whereas the great leaders do the right thing in any situation irrespective of the effects and outcomes.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

Decision-making is highly complex. All decisions may not go right because some decisions go wrong. We are living in a VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, and Ambiguous) world. We must learn to make decisions smartly. When you don’t have adequate information, you must trust your intuition. Intuition comes from your experience. Experience comes from embracing failures and learning lessons from your failures.

Intuition is important. Some of the futuristic entrepreneurs go by intuition.  Those who have intuition have a strong inner voice. They are deep thinkers. They can easily pick up cues based on others’ body language. They unlock the power of their subconscious mind. They believe in mysticism and the occult.

Intuition is a powerful gift of extraordinary achievers that is often not understood by ordinary individuals. So, when faced with uncertainty, trust your intuition and make your decisions. Don't regret it when the outcomes don't align with your expectations. Take feedback from reliable sources and trusted team members and revise your decisions. Good luck with better decision-making.

Takeaway: Your intuition is very powerful. Use it effectively to achieve the desired outcomes.

How to Deal with Toxic Leaders?

“The good leaders do the best thing in the prevailing situation whereas the great leaders do the right thing in any situation irrespective of the effects and outcomes.” ―Professor M.S. Rao, Ph.D

People don't leave their organizations but leave their bad bosses. They don't appreciate working with toxic leaders. Instead, they appreciate working with soft leaders who treat their employees as partners.

I understand the pain of toxic leaders as I was born into a toxic family and grew up in a toxic environment. Here are some tips for leaders to excel as better leaders. Leadership comes with a price. You cannot please all. You must be human and assertive to get the tasks executed effectively without hurting your employees. Avoid micromanaging. Tell your employees to do the tasks. Don't tell them how to do them because they will come out with surprising ways of executing the tasks. Tell them how to do the tasks only when they approach you for your assistance. Don’t play favorites. Apply different strokes to different employees because employees are unique with different emotions, egos, and feelings.

Here are some tips for employees to manage their bad bosses. Acquire soft skills. Learn to draw the line. Acquire your employability skills. Keep your CV updated and ready for your next move. There is no reason to work under toxic leaders when you have the potential, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Never compromise working with toxic leaders. Work with healthy leaders to grow as a healthy leader.

Takeaway: Good leaders help their employees reach their potential. Adopt soft leadership to achieve productivity and performance in the workplace.
