Life Is Easy. Why Do We Make It So Hard?

Happy New Year 2021!

“Life is meant for learning, enjoying, and growing, not for litigating.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

Life is simple. Unfortunately, some people make it complicated. They enter into conflicts that are unwanted and uncalled. They invite challenges by interfering with others’ activities. They create problems for themselves and the people around them. Finally, they blame God for all the challenges. God is the greatest scapegoat for them.

I feel life was simple in my childhood. As I grew, I observe life is getting complicated. Technology has brought lots of comforts, but it has distanced the people physically. We must draw a line somewhere in the usage of technology to make life simple and straight. We have several challenges including anxiety and depression globally. Suicides are increasing. People have money, but they cannot enjoy their lives. They run behind something. They search for stones by leaving gems at home.

Conclusion

Be smart. Don't be over-smart. Use your intelligence intelligently to keep things simple and straight. Don't be a litigant. Don’t invite problems for yourself and the people around you. Don't give unsolicited advice. Advise only when asked. Lead your life with simplicity, humility, integrity, and generosity. Life is short. Make it sweet. Enjoy every moment of your life. Life is great!

“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” ―Confucius

Building Resilience

“Everyone falls, but those who get back to the feet are resilient.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

Humans are blessed with resilience. We can overcome any kind of challenge. We are blessed with the power of imagination and creativity. Currently, we are bouncing back from the coronavirus. We bounced from global financial crises. We bounced back after the terrorist attacks. Resilience is the hallmark of the human spirit.

Resilience is the ability to bounce back from failures. I encountered a lot of failures in my life and bounced back. I was down many times, but I was never out. Resilience is a trait anyone can inculcate. Leaders must be resilient. If things don't fall into place, they must take a pause, reflect a lot, and bounce back to move forward. Leaders including Abraham Lincoln and George Washington were resilient. They bounced back from several failures. We can learn lessons from them.

Build a strong team. Build supportive networks to bounce back from failures. Parents must teach their children to face challenges and be resilient.

This too shall pass!

Be flexible and adaptable. Embrace change. Be mentally prepared for challenges and changes. Be prepared for volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity. To conclude, you may be down, but you will never be out if you are resilient.

“You may be down, but you will never be out if you are resilient.” ―Professor M.S. Rao
