Why do Celebrities Throw Tantrums on Social Media?

“Silence speaks so much louder than screaming tantrums. Never give anyone an excuse to say that you're crazy.” —Taylor Swift

After the COVID-19 pandemic, I have come across some celebrities making meaningless statements on social media to draw the attention of the people and show their presence felt. In this post, I will discuss celebrities and their gimmicks to build their brands rather than to add value to their communities and societies.

Some celebrities throw tantrums to get noticed. They have an obsession with media attention. They often speak rubbish to get fame for a few seconds. They play gimmicks to get noticed. At times, they attack the established and credible celebrities to draw their attention that they are also existing in this world. Why do they adopt such cheap publicity? It is because they have an identity crisis. They are neglected by the media and society. They crave to be remembered by the people. They want to remind others that they are also existing in this world. Unfortunately, such so-called celebrities are forgotten quickly. The real celebrities walk their talk, lead from the front, and make their presence felt with inspiring messages. They build communities and add value to their societies. They do charities and philanthropy to make a difference in the lives of others.

Social media is not a platform for kicking up controversies. A few publicity mongers treat social media as a steroid to kick up controversies. Unfortunately, their attention span is limited and is forgotten soon. Only the news that is credible lasts for a longer time on social media while the fake news fades away quickly.

Publicity mongers either underact or overact. They are part of the problem, not the solution. Their messages don’t carry any substance. They cannot fool people especially intellectuals who can identify and keep them away. At times, they sway the average and below-average individuals emotionally. In this world of social media, everything is thrown open with no scope for secrecy. People are intelligent enough to find out the truth and stay away from such mongers away.

Be Authentic

“Wars and temper tantrums are the makeshifts of ignorance; regrets are illuminations come too late.” —Joseph Campbell

The values that credible celebrities maintain live longer in the world. They will be remembered even after their death. To conclude, avoid exaggerating, lead authentically, and participate actively in nonprofits to make a positive impact on society.

COVID-19 and Migrant Workers: Celebrities must Lead from the Front

“Though we see the same world, we see it through different eyes.” —Virginia Woolf

I am deeply moved after seeing the visuals of migrant workers in India walking on the road with their family members carrying luggage on their heads. Their hardships and financial challenges deeply move all of us. It appears that migrant workers lack direction and adequate support to reach their destination in the COVID-19 crisis. They don’t have adequate money. The government of India must come out with a clear strategy to ensure that their basic necessities are met. It must ensure that they reach their homes safely by proper transportation. It must have the vision to bring back their lives to normalcy.

Migrant workers contribute immensely to Indian society. Unfortunately, they don’t have any voice and don’t get any attention. They are encountering hardships and tragedies currently. The world is watching silently. Nonprofits must come forward to alleviate their plight.

I have been sharing knowledge freely with the world for 13 years. I neither get a pension and nor have a regular income. So, I have been inspiring people by sharing my knowledge freely through my blogs. The coronavirus has taught me to care for the communities and societies. I started feeding stray dogs in the nearby area and giving a little ration to the needy people.

The plight of migrant workers in India shows that we failed as a society. The pain of the people can only be understood by leaders who care.  Indian actor, Sonu Sood arranged buses to the migrant workers to reach their homes. Celebrities must come forward and lead by example. They must make less rhetoric and make more physical presence to help the people. They must not sit in their homes and comment on the issues. Most celebrities have a love for attention and publicity. They do a little work, take photographs, and do publicity and walk away by building their brands. If they are really serious in making a difference, they must come out of their homes to help the people in this hour of COVID-19 crisis. They must remember that they are earning their livelihood from the people. So, they must give back to society as per their financial capacities.

COVID-19: The Nobel Prize―What is Your Definition of Creativity?

"Creativity is combining facts no one else has connected before." —Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard

What is Your Definition of Creativity?

Here are some definitions of creativity.
Creativity is the ability to connect the dots through visualization to create something unique and different for the benefit of society.
Creativity is the ability to create unexpected solutions for expected problems. It is creating something unique that nobody has thought of it so far. It is the ability to convert raw material into finished goods.
Creativity is the ability to convert information into knowledge to create unique that no one else has thought about it before. It is the ability to integrate the existing knowledge and synthesizing to create something unique no one else has thought about it before.

COVID-19 is an Opportunity to be Creative

"For a writer, the best way to speak is by writing. You will find everything I need to say in my works. Speech is carried off by the wind; the written word can never be obliterated." —Mo Yan, Chinese Literature Laureate

COVID-19 has brought innumerable opportunities such as connecting with friends and families through technology and telephone. People started understanding and analyzing themselves currently as they were busy with the rat race in the past. Now there is enough time to introspect and bring out the desired improvements in attitude, personality, and behavior. Some leaders have isolated themselves and imposed self-quarantine in the wake of COVID-19. There are people who self-isolated and achieved amazing success. Some eminent personalities including William Shakespeare, Isaac Newton, Giovanni Boccaccio, Edward Munch, and Thomas Nashe leveraged their self-isolation and produced the best works in the world. Taking a leaf from them, you can also leverage the current lockdown by unlocking your creativity and producing the best works in the world.

COVID-19: Humans Search for Humanity

“To be a philosopher is not merely to have subtle thoughts, nor even to found a school…it is to solve some of the problems of life not only theoretically, but practically.” —Henry David Thoreau

I have become more creative, imaginative, and productive in my intellectual pursuits during the global lockdown. I analyzed myself to understand why I have become more creative? It is due to my self-isolation. Those who are infected with the virus went into quarantine. But I intentionally went into self-isolation and started writing a book on coronavirus in the first week of April 2020 during the lockdown. I completed it in less than two months which is a record in my lifetime. Usually, I take a minimum of three months to author a book if I am unemployed. Thanks to my self-isolation, I was deeply immersed during the global lockdown and authored the book tentatively titled, ‘COVID-19: Humans Search for Humanity’. Before proofreading the COVID-19 book, I thought it would be an average book. But after the first proofreading of the entire book, I found it above average in content and presentation. I am very much excited about my output. When I proofread this book a few more times, it will be one of the finest books in my lifetime.

Conclusion

The message is simple and clear. When you want to be creative, isolate yourself, immerse deeply into your work, avoid distractions especially arising from technology, and above all, be passionate about your work. You get the best output at the end.

“Writing is a solitary occupation. Family, friends, and society are the natural enemies of a writer. He must be alone, uninterrupted, and slightly savage if he is to sustain and complete an undertaking.” ―Laurence Clark Powell

Words of Wisdom―Dream, Dare, and Do

Everyone aspires to succeed and get noticed. But everyone cannot succeed due to several factors and forces. When you want to achieve success in life, you must dream big, build the right connections, work religiously, overcome challenges, and be optimistic toward life.

God offers a platform for everyone but people hardly recognize and utilize it properly. When God extends you a platform, recognize it, and utilize it effectively to build better communities and societies globally. Remember, you only live once.
