Sridevi is a Complete Actress ― A Tribute to Sridevi (1963 – 2018) ― Share if You Care

“Whom the gods love, die young.”

I was shocked to hear the sudden demise of Indian actress Sridevi in Dubai on February 24, 2018 due to accidental drowning. I am unable to digest this fact. But life is unpredictable. In the year 1990, I viewed the film ‘Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari’ and enjoyed her mesmerizing dance number ‘Abbanee Thiyyanee Debba’ with India’s megastar Chiranjeevi. I was a fan of Chiranjeevi and Sridevi and the film is memorable even today. I was convinced that Sridevi was the only Indian actress who can match with the dancing style of Chirajeevi with grace and charm to mesmerize audiences.

Sridevi — A Complete Actress

Sridevi was a complete actress who was strong in facial animation, vocal animation and body animation. She excelled in all areas of acting including romance, comedy and tragedy. She was a versatile actress. I grew up viewing her movies. Although she took break from film industry for 15 years, it did not affect her image and brand value because of her contribution and charisma. She was fortunate to have received professional support from all quarters throughout her career. For instance, Bharathiraja gave her break in Kollywood; Raghavendra Rao in Tollywood; and Yash Chopra in Bollywood to name a few. She was a blessed actress who was bold and beautiful in front of camera. She is the first female star to have earned the tag of being a superstar.  She received Padma Shri ― India’s fourth highest civilian honor for her contribution to Indian cinema in 2013.

Emphasize More on Static Knowledge, Less on Dynamic Knowledge ― Share if You Care

“Divide your knowledge into static knowledge and dynamic knowledge. Focus more on static knowledge and less on dynamic knowledge because static knowledge remains constant while the dynamic knowledge keeps changing.” ― Professor M.S. Rao

“That which is static and repetitive is boring. That which is dynamic and random is confusing. In between lies art.” —John Locke

Facts are facts! However, some facts are temporary while some facts are permanent. Temporary facts keep changing while permanent facts remain constant. Hence, you can divide facts into two types — static facts and dynamic facts. For instance, earth is round which is a static fact. In contrast, earth has 7.2 billion population which is a dynamic fact because the population changes over time. When you want to acquire knowledge, you must emphasize both static facts and dynamic facts. Given the choice between them, you must emphasize more on static facts and less on dynamic facts. As a researcher, I gather lots of information; convert it into knowledge and author books and write research papers. But I focus more on static facts rather than on dynamic facts. Similarly, divide your knowledge into static knowledge and dynamic knowledge. Focus more on your static knowledge and less on dynamic knowledge because dynamic knowledge keeps changing. To stay updated with current affairs and dynamic knowledge, you must learn, unlearn and relearn constantly. To conclude, allocate your memory to acquire more of static knowledge and less of dynamic knowledge.

“Reading furnishes the mind only with material for knowledge; it is thinking that makes what we read ours.” —John Locke
