Happy Thanksgiving Day! Emphasize Mental Health—The Father of “Soft Leadership” & International Leadership Guru

“It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.” —Mahatma Gandhi

Nowadays, people give so much importance to materialistic considerations rather than to health. They earn a lot but unfortunately, they shell out a lot for medical expenses. Besides, they don't enjoy a blissful life due to health complications although they have a lot of money. They are subject to fatigue and mental tension. When people focus too much on materialistic and worldly pleasures they tend to neglect their health. As a result, they suffer in the end. For instance, the pop star, Michael Jackson had a lot of wealth but unfortunately, he had poor health and it cost his life. A few celebrities suffer from several health complications despite being blessed with a lot of wealth. In this context, given below are a few tips for maintaining good health.

Tips for Good Health

The first wealth is health.” —Ralph Waldo Emerson

  • Hit the gym regularly. Regular exercise enhances life expectancy and longevity and keeps agile and active.

  • Involve in physical activities wherever it is possible. Prefer to climb stairs rather than to escalators or elevators.

  • Avoid alcoholism. Excessive drinking is always unhealthy.

  • If you lead a sedentary lifestyle then it is time you need to exercise your body. Those who work with computer systems should take breaks at regular intervals of time and walk around to lift their energy levels.

  • Go for swimming regularly as the entire body gets worked out during swimming resulting in overall physical fitness.

  • Drink a lot of water as it energies the body and hydrates the system.

  • Always eat nutritious food, especially fruits, and salads. Avoid junk food. And also oily and fatty food.

  • Consume a diet that is rich in carbohydrates just before and after a heavy workout for better health.

  • Take food at regular intervals of time for better digestion.

  • Go either for yoga or meditation.

  • Go to a serene place and spend time as solitude is fortitude.

  • Say no to drugs and tobacco.

  • Go to bed at a regular time every day.

  • Go for regular medical check-ups.

  • Never brood over the unpleasant past as it not only disturbs peace of mind but also wastes time.

  • Go for a stroll with family members once in a while as it promotes better understanding among the family members as well as relaxes your mind.

Taking good care of your health could be challenging, but it is important. It may be difficult to make it a priority, especially when you have a busy schedule, but start by adopting small changes every day.

Although technology has brought several comforts to mankind it has also brought out several health hazards. Life has become highly challenging with a lot of uncertainty and complexity. People should realize the importance of health and spend some time daily on health-oriented activities. Spending time on regular fitness should not be treated as an expense but rather an investment. You can achieve anything and everything if your health is good. To sum up, health is more important than wealth.

"He who has health has hope, and he who has hope has everything." —Arabian Proverb

Happy Thanksgiving Day!—When You Give the Universe, the Universe Gives You Back—The Father of “Soft Leadership” & International Leadership Guru

“Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for.” —Zig Ziglar

Gratitude is widely discussed globally in the wake of COVID-19. People have realized that life is short and can be cut short at any time due to the coronavirus pandemic. They started focusing on gratitude. They started doing meditation and offering prayers. Some people concentrated on nonprofits to add value to their communities and societies. Although the pandemic has become a threat to humans it has opened the eyes of the people globally. It has humbled humans and helped emphasize humanity and hope. People started expressing their gratitude to others.

Advantages of Gratitude

Gratitude is a long game. It is the way you win the hearts and souls of the people. The best leaders do it occasionally. The great leaders do it every time.” ―Chester Elton

Gratitude improves your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual energies. It builds healthy relationships in your personal, professional, and social life. Healthy people practice gratitude. They appreciate things around them.

When you have an attitude of gratitude, you break barriers and build bridges with others. You will be appreciated and applauded by others. Your self-esteem and self-confidence increase. You believe in the power of positivity. You see the light, not the darkness. You stop criticizing, complaining, and condemning others. You improve your personality, attitude, and behavior and excel as a leader.

When you express your gratitude, you appreciate the things around you. The anxiety and depression come down. So, write a gratitude journal every day for 15 minutes before going to your bed. Avoid negative sentences and use positive sentences to achieve a positive outcome. Mention three things are you grateful to God. You get sound sleep and wake up the next day morning with renewed energy and enthusiasm. Additionally, you build tenacity and resilience.

Serve Your Communities and Societies

Life doesn't just happen to you; you receive everything in your life based on what you've given.” ―Rhonda Byrne

When you volunteer you improve your well-being and improve your attitude of gratitude. Therefore, join nonprofits and become a volunteer to serve others. Add value to your communities and societies. Make a difference in their lives.

Behind the success of every person, there is someone who laid the ladder for their success. Nobody can do it alone. Some people are responsible for the success of the person. In my case, my students admired me immensely because I have been sharing my knowledge with them freely on social media platforms for many years. Likewise, there are people behind the success of great people. They must be thankful for others. They must express their gratitude to others.

During the global lockdown, I phoned my friends who have connected with me for the last 43 years and shared my ideas, insights, experiences, and challenges. I thanked some of them for their friendship and support. I converted the lockdown as an opportunity to reconnect with my friends and renew relationships. So, learn to utilize your personal time to connect with your friends and relatives to thank and strengthen your relationships.

Inculcate the Attitude of Gratitude

Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all things have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.” ―Ralph Waldo Emerson

Gratitude indeed gets gratitude. The more you give, the more you get. The more you give it to the universe, the more you get from the universe. Therefore, develop an attitude of gratitude. Express it with others. There is less competition for givers. So, be a giver, not a taker in life, and add value to others.

"Be grateful for what you have now. As you begin to think about all the things in your life you are grateful for, you will be amazed at the never-ending thoughts that come back to you of more things to be grateful for. You have to make a start, and then the law of attraction will receive those grateful thoughts and give you more just like them." ―Rhonda Byrne
