Professor M.S. Rao’s Daily Rituals

“My daily rituals: I wake up at 4 AM and sleep at 10 PM. In the morning, I create knowledge. In the afternoon, I acquire knowledge. In the evening, I eliminate irrelevant information. In the night, I prepare for the next day.” ―Professor M.S. Rao

Daily rituals are collections of certain habits, practices, and lifestyles that enable people to lead their lives with purpose and meaning. They help dream big and achieve success exponentially. In this blog post, I unveil my daily rituals.

Every day morning, I wake up at 4 AM. I express my gratitude to God for gifting one more day to share my knowledge freely with the world. I drink a lot of water that was stored in the copper vessel in the previous night. I do exercises for eyes as I wear reading glasses. I brush my teeth and go to the washroom. I open my laptop and write what I planned for the previous night. Every day night, before I go to bed I give commands to my subconscious mind about the book chapter/topic/article I would write the next day morning. It helps me become more creative and productive. Ideas flash through my mind to write the content.

My wife wakes up at 6 AM and gives me dry fruits―wall-nuts, cashew nuts, dates, and pistachios. She brings a glass of lemon water with honey. I eat dry fruits and drink lemon water mixed with honey. After some time, she brings me black tea with milk. I talk to my wife about the tasks to be done during the day while taking tea. After talking with my wife and taking tea, I resume my writing. I write usually up to 9 AM. I check emails and my social media platforms. I share articles that have been published by international magazines and journals. I prepare if I have to upload any videos during the day. If I have to speak to any seminar, I will prepare for it. If I have to be a guest for podcasts/interviews, I prepare sincerely by listening to the published podcasts/interviews. In this way, I understand the process of the interview and deliver my best. I blog some quotes or articles. I take breakfast along with my wife and ask her if I have to bring any groceries or vegetables from the market.

I go to the gym every day by walk and it takes 30 minutes to reach the gym. I do a heavy workout for an hour. I cultivated the habit of going to the gym when I was 15 years old with a dream to join the Indian Air Force. I served in the Indian Air Force for more than a decade and took voluntary retirement. So, I don’t get any pension. Daily I bring some food for stray dogs in my colony. I return home by walk and it takes 30 minutes to reach. I offer food to stray dogs in my colony and reach my home.

I take bath and pray to Sun God. I offer prayers to God every day for ten minutes. I go to my laptop and write. I take lunch with my wife on the floor as we don't have a dining table. I take a nap for some time at 3 PM. My wife wakes me up after an hour and offers me a green tea. I chat with her by taking green tea and go to my laptop to edit or update the content that I created in the morning.

At 7 PM, I do a home workout along with my wife by watching a video and it takes about an hour. My wife offers me some fruits/snacks/soup at dinner. We both talk and take dinner. After completion of the dinner, I come to my laptop again and complete the pending tasks of the day. I check my emails and social media platforms. I eliminate unwanted information and prepare for the next day morning.

At the night, I sleep on the floor as we don’t have any cot. We have been sleeping on the floor for almost 14 years. We still belong to a lower-middle-class family. I don't have any income and pension from the Indian Air Force as I left the service before completion voluntarily. Before I go to bed, I take feedback on what value I have added to the world. I assess whether I have shared my knowledge freely with the world on social media. If I did not do, I will find out the roadblocks and ensure that I would do the following day. I express my gratitude to God for making my day beautiful. I give commands to my subconscious mind about the complex issues to enable me to find innovative solutions in the next day morning. I also give commands to my subconscious mind about the topic I would write the next day morning. Life is great.

Fortune and Fame

“A writer doesn't dream of riches and fame, though those things are nice. A true writer longs to leave behind a piece of themselves, something that withstands the test of time and is passed down for generations.” ―CK Webb

Most people aspire to earn fortune and fame in the world. They want to lead a wealthy, healthy, and happy life. But all are not blessed with them. Some people prefer fame to fortune while some prefer fortune to fame based on their passions and needs. In this post, I will discuss and differentiate between fame and fortune.

Leaders including Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Martin Luther King Jr, and Nelson Mandela had a voice. They had fame, not fortune. In contrast, leaders including Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Warren Buffett have both fortune and fame. It is a rare combination. It is obvious from these examples that some are blessed with fame, some are blessed with fortune, and some are blessed with both fortune and fame. It all depends on the leaders and their passions, principles, and practices.

Some people pay money to receive awards and get likes on social media platforms. Such people have visibility but lack credibility. Instead, they must emphasize adding value to others to enable them to be appreciated for their authentic intentions and actions by the world.

Vision, a lot of hard work, and a little bit of luck are essential to earning fame and fortune in the world. Everything starts with a healthy daily routine with discipline and execution. You must plan their daily routine and follow it religiously. You must set your vision based on your expertise, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities to enable you to enjoy your life and add value to others. There is the least competition when you want to add value to others. People are intelligent enough to assess the right people who have the heart to serve others. They respect the contributors for the services and knowledge. Leaders including Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa, and Nelson Mandela added value to their societies and served others without expecting anything in return. As a result, they had a voice and earned their fame. Therefore, add value to others and serve humanity. Nothing is greater than serving humanity without expecting anything in return.

"I slept and I dreamed that life is all joy. I woke and I saw that life is all service. I served and saw that service is a joy." —Khalil Gibran
