“Is it not a Violation of Human Rights if Educators Encounter Financial Hardships and Depression due to Non-Payment of Salary by Private Educational Institutions in Hyderabad?” ―Professor M.S.Rao

“If it can be destroyed by the truth, it deserves to be destroyed by the truth.” ― Carl Sagan, astronomer and author

Is it not cheating when the owner a private educational institution doesn’t pay salary to a professor for more than three months? Is it not cheating by transferring the professor from one educational institution to another institution within his educational group by the owner just before the JNTU inspection to show it on records that a PhD holder is working?  Is it not cheating by not giving the relieving order and service certificate to the professor after giving one month notice to leave from service on administrative grounds? Is it not a violation of human rights when teachers and educators are cheated by private educational institutions in India?

Irregularities in Private Engineering Colleges in Hyderabad

Some of the educational institutions in Hyderabad are run by rogues and criminals who don’t pay salaries of the last month to the leaving employees. There are rogues who don’t pay salaries for more than three months and terminate the services of educators. It has become like a ‘use and throw’ philosophy in these erring educational institutions.  It is highly deplorable to note that these rogues don’t give relieving letter and service certificate to the leaving employees. They don’t allow the employees to continue their services also. These rogues stop paying salaries to their serving employees on flimsy grounds. They are so sadistic that they want the intellectuals, educators and employees to stand in front of them with begging bows to receive their salaries. They enjoy when intellectuals stand in front of them for begging salaries. Very sadistic indeed! Is there no one to check such sadistic activities?

When colleges are fraud and owners are cheats how can the students have better education? When they cheat their faculty by not giving salary for months how can the best faculty join these private colleges?  At times, the officials in the affiliated universities bend in front of these rogues for freebies. If these officials were strong, the owners of these colleges would not have had any scope to cheat their faculty and students.

The fate of educators and intellectuals is very pathetic in private pharmacy, medical and engineering colleges in the state of Telangana and especially in Hyderabad. When the aggrieved employees approach the registrar, vice-chancellor and grievance cell of the affiliated universities, the response is lukewarm. We need to check such irregularities in private colleges to create a healthy ambience for educators and students to achieve excellence in education.

Conclusion

The registrar, vice-chancellor and grievance cell of the affiliated universities must not remain as mute spectators to corruption and irregularities in these colleges. They must intervene to check such irregularities to ensure the sanctity of educational institutions. Additionally, The Andhra Pradesh Human Rights Commission must treat such grievances as violation of human rights because the family of the person suffers due to non-payment of salary from the owners of these erring educational institutions. The social media, press, right thinking citizens must come forward to check such irregularities and teach lesson to rogues and criminals who run educational institutions in the name of entrepreneurs.

If essential, CBI must intervene to check irregularities in these private educational institutions. Some of the institutions are run by mafia and goons who use all kinds of coercion to suppress faculty and employees. They level fictitious cases to get rid of the faculty who are honest and straightforward.  They pay huge donations to political parties during elections to keep the latter in good humor.  To conclude, coordinated approach from all stakeholders is essential to check irregularities and corruption to ensure sanctity to educational institutions.

“Who are the ‘College Criminals’ in Hyderabad? – Students or Faculty or Owners?” ―Professor M.S.Rao

“Society does not go down because of the activities of criminals but because of the inactivities of the good people.” ― Swami Vivekananda

Does the caption sound interesting? You might think how criminals will be there in colleges. Don’t think that the criminals are there in the underworld only. They are available everywhere in the society including companies and colleges but in disguise. In corporate world, they are known are ‘corporate criminals’. In educational institutions, they are known as ‘college criminals’. Let us find them out.

Are Students ‘College Criminals’?

Students join colleges to acquire education. They want to be equipped with degrees and qualifications. They are busy in classrooms or libraries. They attend classroom to acquire subject knowledge. They go to library to read reference books and newspapers. They go to cafeteria or canteen in the college to have snacks or food.  They go to other areas in the campus to gossip with their friends. At times, they enjoy talking about their girlfriends or boyfriends. Hence, they cannot come under the category of ‘college criminals’. They are the future citizens of India. The strength of our nation depends on their characters and the quality of education they acquire in the college campuses.

Are Teachers College Criminals?

Educators go to college to share their knowledge with students, and to earn livelihood for themselves and their family members. They follow the syllabus outlined by the university religiously. Accordingly, they prepare teaching notes for students depending on number of sessions they have to conduct in the semester or the academic year. They do research to upgrade their knowledge, skills and abilities. They are excited to share their knowledge with students. They are happy when students greet them in the college campus. They enjoy counseling and mentoring students.  When students grow big in their lives the educators are very happy because they know that they cannot attain great heights since they are only preachers. In fact, educators lay the ladder of success to their students but they rarely climb the ladder of success. They treat the achievements of their students as theirs. Hence, educators are not college criminals because they are intellectuals

Are Owners ‘College Criminals’?

Entrepreneurs establish educational institutions to earn money for themselves, to provide employment to educators, and to provide quality education to students. In fact, they are risk takers and take lots of pains to found and establish educational institutions. These are the hallmarks of ideal owners of private colleges in Hyderabad. Unfortunately a few rogues entered into educational institutions as owners to make quick money. They lack ethics and etiquette. They cut corners. They trouble students by charging fee by various means. They harass educators by not paying salaries on time. In fact, they trouble the leaving faculty more by not paying salaries at all for a month to six months. They blackmail the working educators to continue their services by stopping their salaries. The plight of professors and principals is worse in the private colleges in Hyderabad because they cannot be relieved by these rogue owners. The reality is that nobody is ready to join as professors and principals in these colleges. Hence, they promote their existing educators in senior passions despite not having adequate qualifications as stipulated by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and affiliated university guidelines. They browbeat the honest educators and intellectuals especially by stopping their salaries. It is unfortunate to write that some of the owners are womanizers and come to campus under intoxication. They preach morals in public places but practice immoral activities in their personal and private lives.

Conclusion

Although some of the college owners have noble intentions and ideas to add value to education and to make a difference to the society but due to the prevalent of a few rogues the college ambience has become highly toxic. Probably you must have come to the conclusion now that some of the owners of private colleges in Hyderabad are ‘college criminals’. To summarize, the onus lies with the right thinking people, intellectuals and regulating bodies including AICTE, nonprofits to clear criminals from colleges to ensure sanctity to education; to create intellectual ambience to educators; and impart quality education to students to build a strong nation. Jai Hind!

“Scientists search for truth. Philosophers search for morality. A criminal trial searches for only one result: proof beyond a reasonable doubt.” ― Alan Dershowitz

Note: I enjoy blogging on education, corruption and irregularities in private colleges in Telangana and India to convert Indian educational institutions into the true temples of learning.

“Derecognize Private Pharmacy, Medical and Engineering Colleges in Telangana State for Cheating Faculty and Filing Wrong Cases” ―Professor M.S.Rao

“A man of courage never needs weapons, but he may need bail.” ―Lewis Mumford, writer and philosopher

Some of the private pharmacy, medical and engineering colleges in Telangana State don’t pay salaries on time to their faculty. They deliberately delay paying salaries to them to utilize their cash for other commercial activities or to set up new educational institutions. They often blame the government for the delay in receiving fee reimbursement, or their affiliated universities or their students. Some of these colleges don’t pay salary at all to their faculty who leave these fraud colleges to avoid torture and financial hardships arising out of delay in receiving the salaries.  These colleges are notorious for showing to AICTE and their affiliated universities that they pay high salaries to their faculty. But they pay less in reality.  For instance, every month these colleges pay salary through their affiliated banks (where the faculty opens their bank accounts) but they collect the differential amount by taking the signatures from their faculty on withdrawal forms. If the faculty members don’t have bank accounts, these notorious colleges deduct the amount from their inflated salary (mentioned in their records to show to AICTE and affiliated universities) from faculty and pay the actual salary.  If the universities check the bank transactions of these fraud colleges, it is clearly evident about the irregularities and malpractices that are happening presently. Any person with average intelligence can identify and understand these irregularities.   These colleges don’t conduct welfare meetings regularly. They are not faculty friendly. When the faculty goes on leave, they deduct from salary although the faculty was entitled to proceed on leave. The university officials are silent as they have close nexus with the owners of these colleges. Some of the university officials take bribes from these colleges regularly. All these malpractices and irregularities adversely affect both the faculty and students.  If faculty questions the management, they are removed from services arbitrarily. Worse, these fraud colleges also file wrong cases to overcome their irregularities to checkmate the leaving employees. Hence, it is essential to cleanse these colleges from corruption and irregularities.

AICTE and the affiliated universities must take stringent action against these erring private colleges in Telangana State. Ensure that these fraud colleges must not get affiliation from universities. If essential, CBI must intervene to check irregularities in these private educational institutions. Some of the institutions are run by mafia and goons who use all kinds of coercion to suppress faculty and employees. The owners of these private colleges pay huge donations to political parties during elections to keep them in good humor.

Remember, the day corruption enters into Indian Armed Forces and educational institutions, the country will collapse. Hence, AICTE, nodal organizations, affiliated universities, press, patriotic citizens and nonprofit organizations must come forward to cleanse Indian education system and colleges from corruption. Jai Hind!
