Property Dispute Resolution—Professor M.S. Rao, Ph.D.—The Father of “Soft Leadership” & International Leadership Guru
“Be leery of silence. It doesn't mean you won the argument. Often, people are just busy reloading their guns.” ―Shannon L. Alder
Disputes are common in families and friends. They are expected in their personal, professional, and social lives. What is expected is to demonstrate composure and maturity to think through coolly to search solutions for the disputes. In this regard, we will discuss resolving disputes privately in a dignified manner to leave a mark for others to follow.
Settle Disputes Privately
“No matter how thin you slice it, there will always be two sides.” ―Spinoza
Parents must distribute wealth to their children before relationships go sour. It helps keep families intact to leave a better legacy. Some parents are indecisive resulting in litigations in children. So, observe the following tips to settle disputes privately. Understand the issue clearly. Set SMART goals. Be tough-minded but tender at heart. Be flexible to give away something to take something in return. Empathize with others. Listen to all sources but make your own decision based on your head, heart, gut, and intuition. Strive for a win-win outcome. After resolving the dispute avoid discussing it with others to enable the other person to live with dignity and honor.
A Take-Home Message
“Sometimes you have to let others tell their story about you...even if most of it is fabricated. Your character will tell your side without any words spoken. Do your best to vibrate high even in the midst of a shit storm.” ―Sanjo Jendayi
Don’t get provoked by others. Emphasize ethics and etiquette to win your argument. Avoid hitting below the belt to enable your opponents to remember your principles and philosophies. Life is short. Why should we make it sour? Let us make it sweet by settling disputes privately through discussion and dialogue. Life is great.
“Ultimately all kinds of fights end at forgiveness.” ―Amit Kalantri

Embrace Change to Lead from the Front—Professor M.S. Rao, Ph.D.—The Father of “Soft Leadership” & International Leadership Guru
"People support a world they help create and support a process that helps them succeed." —Dale Carnegie.
Change is the thing everyone is scared of. When we talk about changing our clothes, foods, and lifestyles we get excited. However, when we are asked to change place of location, nature of work, or if there are changes in roles and responsibilities and policies and procedures, we get tense. Why is it so? Does it not sound contradictory? But it is a fact that people resist change. We shall find out the same from the perspective of Dale Carnegie.
Dale Carnegie stated of six kinds of fears people have to overcome. They are 'fear of criticism', 'fear of failure', 'fear of old age', 'fear of poverty', 'fear of ill health', and finally 'fear of death'. In the context of change, it is the 'fear of failure' and 'fear of criticism' that are the obstacles to embracing change. The people at the workplace are scared of embracing change as the results of change are unpredictable and they doubt about the capability and competency in effecting the change. At times the loss of authority, fear of losing a job, and fear of coming out of the comfort zone make the change process complicated.
The fear of change is worse than the real change. When the real change takes place, people gradually overcome their apprehensions provided there is a strong and visionary leadership that guides the change process.
Everyone talks of change and everyone knows that change pays off well. Everyone admits that change is the only constant thing in the world. Yet, people resist change. Is it because change is painful and stressful? The fact is that change is always helpful. If there had been no change, humankind would have remained in the Stone Age only. Therefore, let us mentally prepare to shed the old outdated practices and procedures and wed new ones that lead to all-around peace and prosperity. To conclude in the words of Benjamin Disraeli, "Change is inevitable in a progressive society. Change is constant."

Do You Believe in Luck?—The Father of “Soft Leadership” & International Leadership Guru
"The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they, while their companions slept, were toiling upward through the night" - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.
When I was doing work out at the gymnasium, a young man approached and asked me a question, "Dear Professor! People often say 'Do your duty but don't look for rewards'. Don’t you think it is a contradictory statement as we work only for results? Could you explain?” I smiled and said as follows:
I complimented them for asking a good question and probably many youth may have this query in their minds. Lord Krishna said, "Action is the duty reward is not thy concern." That means man has to put in his efforts consistently without focusing too much on results as focusing too much on results diverts his mind from putting in efforts. Man gets discouraged when encounters failures as he is more concerned about results than efforts. Besides, for some people success comes early while for some people success comes late. Hence, our duty as human beings is to put in effort regularly without getting unduly worried about success. When I explained in this way the young man smiled and said, "Thank you Professor for clearing my long overdue query."
People often talk about 'luck' when someone achieves something. They ignore the hard work put in by the successful individual. The truth is that two forces govern any individual. First is internal force and second is external force. Man has to put in his best efforts to achieve the desired goals and objectives. However, external forces often hinder in achieving success. When external forces favor, man can reach his tipping point. That external force is nothing but 'luck'. However, if you don't work hard and achieve success due to the favorable so-called external forces such as 'luck' your success will not last long enough. Hence, keep doing your best without looking for results and returns, and, over some time success will touch your toes. Here is a caution! The higher you achieve higher the humility you must possess otherwise success doesn't have any meaning.
Good luck and keep putting in your efforts!

The Biggest Challenges Teachers Face In The Classroom Today—The Father of “Soft Leadership” & International Leadership Guru
“Teaching is the only major occupation of man for which we have not yet developed tools that make an average person capable of competence and performance. In teaching we rely on the "naturals," the ones who somehow know how to teach." —Peter Drucker
Currently, educators face several challenges in teaching. With easy access to information to students and information overload students demand more from educators and the latter find it tough to meet the rising aspirations and expectations of the former. The internet has revolutionized the entire world and made the world small where everything has been thrown open with little secrecy for all of us. Here are the crucial challenges for educators globally.
Students have become smarter and sharper with the availability of knowledge and information and students often fail to differentiate between information and knowledge. Educators must differentiate that information is not knowledge and there is a thin line that separates them. They must also enlighten students to stay away from information overload as it clutters their minds leading to confusion. In addition, it wastes students' precious time.
Students expect a lot from educators and want something different from them. Hence, educators must do extensive research in their disciplines and create new concepts with case studies, examples, and illustrations to stand out from others. In addition, they must also innovate new tools and techniques in teaching as the traditional ones are losing their relevance. They must involve students in the teaching process through interacting, questioning, and grilling thus pulling them out of their comfort zones. Encouraging students' participation in the teaching process is needed as it not only makes the teaching more effective but also brings benefits to both educators and students thus making it a win-win for all. A good educator is a good learner and he or she must learn from students. Peter Drucker said that he had learned a lot from students when he shared his knowledge and experience while teaching EMBA students.
Finally, educators have a great challenge where they have to meet the rising aspirations and expectations of students. It can happen only when educators teach with passion by having complete command over their discipline. They must do continuous research and share their knowledge with students. While sharing their knowledge the questions raised by students must be noted down and thoroughly researched. It helps them widen their knowledge base and stand firmly on their feet while teaching in the classroom apart from commanding respect from students. To conclude, educators must not take their students for granted. They must come out of their comfort zones to know the pulse of their students and prepare themselves accordingly to stay ahead and stand out from others.

Challenges Faced by Writers and How to Overcome Them—The Father of “Soft Leadership” & International Leadership Guru
“Writing is an adventure. To begin with, it is a toy and an amusement. Then it becomes a mistress, then it becomes a master, then it becomes a tyrant. The last phase is that just as you are about to be reconciled to your servitude, you kill the monster and fling him to the public." —Winston Churchill.
Challenges for Authors
Authors face several challenges from the beginning of the book's conception to its reality. During the process, there are a number of bottlenecks they overcome. Especially the budding authors have to struggle a lot to establish themselves. Often publishers will not come forward as the authors do not have any credibility. Authors take a lot of pain and sacrifice to bring an idea into reality by way of a book. After the creation of the book, the authors have to search for credible publishers. Creation of a book takes a lot of time and again finding a suitable publisher for the book takes a little longer time. Although it is widely said that the book should have strength to get acceptance publishers don't come forward easily for budding authors. Most of the time publishers look at the background of the authors to ensure quick sales for the books as it is easy for them because they can realize their capital and generate quick profits.
Authors write books with a lot of passion. If the authors are not financially sound it is tougher to ensure their sustenance. Besides, the income from authoring books is meager. These are the challenges for authors from the publishers' perspective. Let us also look at the challenges for authors from readers' perspective.
Authors find it tough to predict the pulse of the readers. Due to the rising complexity and uncertainty, it is not easy to gauge what readers like. Their tastes are changing rapidly.
Challenges for Readers
Readers find it tough to spot good books due to information overload. The Internet has become both a boon and a bane. Readers get a lot of information freely to choose from search engines. Most of the time readers find it tough to distinguish the wheat from the chaff. Even readers also go by the credentials of the authors. If readers like the books of the authors, they prefer to read the books written by them. Readers also buy the books of celebrities although they are not professional authors because of their celebrity status.
A Take-Home Message
There are challenges for authors, publishers, and readers. Authors must learn to go by the road less traveled. Readers want unique and different material. If the authors can spot new triggers and explore through sound research and author books, they find publishers approaching them for publication easily. Ultimately readers will be able to get the best material thus saving their precious time.

Regrets of the Dying—Professor M.S. Rao, Ph.D.—The Father of “Soft Leadership” & International Leadership Guru
“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” —Mark Twain
Imagine you were 80 years old at your death bed and if you regretted that you did not endeavor and achieve anything in your life it would be more painful than encountering failures during your lifetime. Man's biggest mistake lies in not attempting anything during his lifetime and regretting it during old age. Most people have regrets at the end of their careers or lives for not having done certain things in the past. Probably they failed to do things due to their negligence or external constraints.
No one loves to go old, but we cannot avoid it as life is a cycle of birth, growth, and death. According to Hindu philosophy, three people sustain human life that is Lord Brahma—the creator, Lord Vishnu—the generator and Lord Shiva—the destroyer.
To avoid regrets in the later part of life, plan now, execute effectively, and accomplish whatever is possible. You must develop the habit of doing things regularly without postponing things. Procrastination is the thief of time. People are expected to do certain things at certain stages of life. Failure to do so leads them to regrets on deathbed. Besides, people must not do certain things that trouble them during their old age. They must be careful in what they do. They must have the right attitude to grow and help others grow during their prime age.
It is rightly said, "Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you want to be. Because you only have one life and a chance to do it all." Life is very short. Make it sweet. Do what best you can. Leave no room for regrets later on. Manage your time properly and deliver the goods consistently. Do things regularly without postponing. Remember one thing in your life, if you waste one second you waste one second of your precious life. Therefore, make your life meaningful by balancing your personal, professional, and social life.
It is a fact that the young man looks at the future, the middle-aged man looks at the present and the old man looks at the past. Hence, give a direction to your life and a meaning to your life. If you want to leave this world peacefully do your best, give your best, and make a difference in the lives of others as we are not sure of another life. Albert Pike rightly noted, "What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal."
